Position Overview: The Assistant Manager, Category will act as Walmart's category expert by providing best in class category & shopper insights and actionable go-to-market recommendations. They will work closely with Walmart's merchant team to develop and grow total category sales by analyzing various data sources, identifying business insights, and recommending solutions. This position works as a strategic thought leader, imparting knowledge of the category and member to drive profitable business results. Job Responsibilities: Act as the subject matter expert for the category to Walmart by providing thought leadership guidance and recommendations Serve as the expert on the use of syndicated data to assist Walmart in making well informed decisions from actionable insights Generate weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting to provide insights, identify opportunities and deliver solutions that drive profitable category growth. Own the annual relay process including drawing and submitting all MODS Leverage learnings from cross functional counterparts (e.g., Category Development, Consumer Insight, Customer Insights, etc.) to deliver impactful recommendations to Walmart Develop presentations and present to the merchant and key stakeholders (e.g., category 101's, business reviews, consumer/ shopper POV's, etc.) Form perspective on multi-channel purchasing behaviors (e.g., site to store, store to site, etc.) Monitor channel shifting and the associated trends reflected in the marketplace Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (emphasis in business/marketing or related field) 1-2 years of experience working with a leading CPG company in category management (Walmart Advisor experience preferred). Demonstrated knowledge of Category Management philosophies, tools and processes and proven record of success. Ability to build strong sustainable working relationships with Walmart, and cross functionally within Newell (Category Development, Consumer and Shopper Insights). Self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with aggressive deadlines. Advanced analytical skills and computer software proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.). Strong understanding and experience with space planning software (JDA/Blue Yonder) and leveraging best in class shelving principles Strong familiarity with syndicated data metrics and software and retailer POS (e.g., NPD, IRI, Nielsen, Numerator, Retail Link). Prior experience analyzing retailer data and presenting key findings and recommendations to the customer. (Luminate experience preferred) Proven ability to analyze and identify insights from a combination of data sources. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong project management, follow-up, organizational, communication, and presentation skills. Position Summary: This position will report to the Walmart Canada Sales Director and will have responsibility for driving profitable sales and share growth in the eCommerce channel for Walmart Canada. They will be responsible for driving aggressive growth in this strategic channel, achieving similar penetration levels as Walmart US (with a stretch goal of exceeding), while establishing strong internal and external relationships and competitive advantage for Newell. Key Responsibilities: Full ownership of WM eCommerce and Marketplace channel. Responsible for delivering eComm success metrics (Sales, share, DSMP (eg. content scores, assortment, search, ratings) across all segments. This includes the development and ownership of a successful e-Commerce strategy that will identify the biggest opportunities, along with action plans and executional elements to win. Internal collaboration with Segments (Canada and US), and Walmart Teams (Canada and US) to develop winning plans and secure the investments needed to grow share and sales in this critical channel. Work externally with Walmart to deliver aggressive growth targets, collaborating on a joint scorecard to grow disproportionately while supporting Newell Brand goals, objectives and strategies. This would also incorporate WM Canada strategies and goals to ensure WM Leadership support. To be reviewed and actioned with Walmart on a regular cadence to ensure plans and success metrics remain on track to goal. Assess and optimize fulfilment methods to ensure the most profitable approach to each business opportunity. Generate and leverage new and unique consumer insights to drive competitive advantage and win in the online channel. Establish Newell as a thought Leader in this space with Walmart. Develop and implement new tools to track and action distribution, pricing, and other digital core business health metrics on a regular basis. Support key corporate strategies online, by building winning plans behind major Events such as Back to school, Big Save, Black Friday, and New Year, New You/Mini BTS and leveraging unique digital commerce tools to reach online shoppers. Coordinate with B&M activity to drive total omni channel executions. Leverage and drive new business opportunities online with baby registry, teacher program, business program etc. (including Virtual bundles, pricing tactics (multi save), digital coupons etc.) These are currently untapped opportunities that present upside. Lead JBP meetings, T2T meetings, ASP meetings for all categories; Partner with B&M account managers to drive omni-channel success. Liaise with WM US counterparts on regular basis. Benchmark vs WM US eComm penetration and grow Canadian shares. Conduct monthly virtual store walks highlighting best practices. Work closely with account managers to develop full year eComm promo calendar. Work closely with WM eComm analytics team to understand, align, influence and deliver key success metrics (CTR, SEO, TOP, conversion, pen etc.). Develop digital investment strategies for each business and align Segment leadership to growth objectives and strategies. Deliver strong ROIs to ensure value and long term benefit for Newell.
