The Director, Strategy & Analytics is a key member of the Canada Affiliate Leadership Team, who leads the development of the overall Affiliate strategy and supports the General Manager in setting and cascading of the strategy; leads or supports high impact, priority initiatives to deliver the strategy; provides thought leadership and analytical capabilities to brands and function leads; and leads the market intelligence capabilities of the Affiliate.
The position serves as the annual strategy project manager and oversees the day to day development of the strategy. The position supports the Affiliate leadership team in developing the strategy and identifying the key priorities for the Affiliate. The strategy process includes aligning with the regional team and supporting the regional strategy cycle.
This position leads the team to understand Canada market, specifically retailer dynamics, competitor actions, market sizing as well as category and subcategory trends (skincare, makeup, fragrance and hair care). This position will also update the leadership team monthly in terms of market performance and ELC's position.

General Manager, Canada Affiliate
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategy
- Lead the annual strategy process, working closely with the Affiliate General Manager and cross-functional partners (brands, finance, commercial, online, consumer engagement, etc.) to set and/or update the Affiliate strategy in line with the Global and North America Region strategies
o Lead the development of the annual process as the strategy project manager, drive facilitation of leadership alignment, lead work stream groups in development of strategy and identification of key priorities for the Affiliate
- Support North America Strategy & Analytics team on the Region's annual strategy process and ad hoc presentations
- Lead development of material for strategy cascade including
o Internal communication though quarterly meetings and town halls
o External communication through top-to-top meetings and other executive meetings
- Monitor the execution of the Affiliate's strategic initiatives and impact on performance by:
o Identifying key projects, initiatives and KPIs
o Driving accountability of strategic initiatives across function and brand leads
- Support leadership team in:
o Evaluating company performance (in absolute and relative to market)
o Analyzing portfolio, distribution and business development opportunities across all brands
o Measuring ROI on existing initiatives
o Sizing new or existing markets
o Identifying, prioritizing and sizing key opportunities for Canada
2. Analytics
- Develop the analytical capabilities of the Affiliate to support corporate and brand teams by integrating data (especially market data) into decision-making
o Drive analytics, lead projects and deliver presentations with insights and strategic perspectives on opportunities
o Provide strategic and analytical thought leadership to function and brand leads
o Lead informative and educational training sessions for brands to learn about market data tools and data applications
o Understand and communicate insights on the impact of competitive industry movements on our business
- Lead Market Intelligence capabilities across the Affiliate including:
o Develop tracking and understanding market share, competition and category trends with monthly dashboards, quarterly presentations and ad hoc analysis
o Vendor management
- Supports leadership team with retail sales and market share reporting across Affiliate
- Lead and run Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP) as a process and tool to identify, track and measure of the Affiliate's subcategory strategy
- Provide guidance to Finance and Marketing on pricing process by initiating annual or bi-annual pricing analysis (partnering with regional or global pricing groups and/or external vendors)
3. Strategy Operations
- Lead and/or support high impact, priority initiatives that cut across the portfolio of brands and functions
- Collaborate with teams throughout the company to develop and execute strategic initiatives as identified by management

Profil recherché

- Min 6-8 years of experience in a Consulting, Private Equity, or Consumer / Retail role
- Understanding of the Consumer / Retail industry and requirements
- Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills (expertise in Excel, and ideally in more advanced tools)
- Strong problem solving skills; ability to quickly ramp up on multiple topics
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into meaningful conclusions / recommendations; good business judgment
- Strong project management capabilities with ability to thrive in a project-based, collaborative team environment
- Ability to work independently and with teams; pro-activeness in identifying challenges and finding solutions
- Good communication and presentation skills (verbal, written and visual). Ability to convey messages clearly and concisely
- Ability to manage / interact effectively with multiple stakeholders
- Proficiency in all Microsoft applications (esp. Excel, PPT, Word)
