What you'll do

It's safe to say, there's no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:

  • Accountable for leading the implementation and execution of the Internal Investigations strategy (6-12 months) in alignment with overall Investigations and LP objectives
  • Assesses, monitors, evaluates, and recommends solutions for reducing shrink, with focus on, but not limited to training, procedural adoption, and implementing the best practices identified with the industry
  • Accountable for building knowledge and skill capability within the team to execute on all required internal investigations procedures and safety protocols, execute effectively and efficiently on all required internal investigations procedures and safety protocols, and to adhere with local and national legislation requirements regarding apprehensions
  • Develops consistent, streamlined processes and procedures for Internal Investigations, identifying gaps and recommending effective solutions, ensuring national standards for investigations are consistently and effectively utilized throughout the entire team, in alignment with the LP investigations framework
  • Drives the use of analytics, in partnership with the LP Analytics team, to execute effective workforce planning by determining, prioritizing, and optimizing the allocation of internal investigations resourcing in alignment with overall investigations objectives
  • Develops and tracks internal investigation KPIs, and shares insight nationally to keep stakeholders informed of future trends
  • Leads and/or participates in Corporate Committees and special projects as required
  • Provides change management guidance as need for future policy or procedural changes within Internal Investigations, utilizing and reinforcing the use of the TJX change management framework
  • Partners with key stakeholders/SMEs i.e. Investigations, Analytics, compliance and Technology Managers to support/drive investigations
  • Collaborates regularly with Managers across LP, to share feedback on trends, identify training needs, and gather/ share information as it relates to Internal investigations
  • Collaborate with industry partners to identify trends and best practices, and make recommendations on initiatives and/or solutions to protect TJX assets
  • Collaborates with internal partners and stakeholders (TJX Canada, Global) to establish ways of working/ best practices and champion locall
What you'll need

To begin your career with us, we require the following:

  • Post-secondary education in related field preferred
  • Five (5) to (7) seven years progressive management experience in Retail, preferably off-price, with experience in operations and loss prevention is preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including interviewing, negotiating, listening, conflict management, information gathering and coaching; with ability to influence business partners to help prioritize activities and resources to meet the organization needs, build rapport and credibility to be a trusted advisor; bilingualism (English/French) an asset
  • Strong investigative methodologies and experience with analytical and critical thinking skills to provide solutions; ability to leverage prior experience and adapt quickly to the changing work environment to make effective decisions; demonstrated flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing needs of the business, and changing priorities
  • Knowledge of the global and national retail landscape and market trends to develop future strategies; solid understanding of business tools and reports to make business recommendations
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to act as a collaborative partner with senior management and positively influence management and staff to act in the best interest of the Company
  • Demonstrates management skills including organizational, negotiating, listening, conflict management and information gathering skills. Demonstrated solid people management skills including coaching, providing advice and guidance to Associates in the resolution of problems
  • Strong problem-solving skills including analysis of information (i.e., requirements; description of problems); provide solutions with cost implications to effectively resolve issues and execute strategic solutions
  • Solid project management skills including structured project methodology (i.e., determining needs, researching existing programs, etc.); preparing and maintaining detailed development plans for projects; determining project specifications; understanding and applying principles of project control to launch and manage new initiatives and innovations
  • Strong technical aptitude and willingness to master the use of relevant technologies. computer skills including MS Office applications - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
