What you'll do
It's safe to say, there's no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key responsibilities of the role:
- This position is responsible for utilizing standard project management tools and methodologies to manage select large concurrent projects within TJX Canada to support the successful achievement of the organization's strategic priorities.
- Leads the development and implementation of comprehensive project plans for large concurrent projects with all functional business areas, including setting milestones, identifying required resources, establishing interdependencies & cross functional timelines, to ensure project objectives are delivered on-time, within budget while maintaining minimal disruption to the business.
- Accountable for identifying project roadblocks and issues and partnering with Business Leaders and subject matter experts to develop solutions and mitigate risks, escalating to Business Lead and Executive Steering Committee when required to ensure project goals are met.
- Partners with the business project leads and teams to influence and guides multiple, concurrent tasks and properly assesses priorities of assigned activities and ensures integration of all dependent projects.
- Responsible for timely and effective project communications including organizing and leading regular cross functional progress meetings with Project Leaders and other relevant stakeholders from across all functions, as well as preparing and presenting regular progress updates to Executive Steering Committees and other groups as determined in the governance model.
- Partners with teams across TJX and leverages industry best practices to assist in the development, delivery and maintenance of project management standards/methods, tools, documentation and training to support the ongoing development of strategic project management capabilities across TJX Canada.
What you'll need
To begin your career with us, you'll have:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years' experience in project management, with a focus on larger cross-functional projects; demonstrated capacity to manage multiple priorities and working in a fast-paced environment and deliver high quality product under tight timelines.
- Formal Project Management accreditation - PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent
- Excellent project management skills including structured project methodology (i.e., determining needs, researching existing programs, etc.); preparing and maintaining detailed development plans for projects; determining project specifications; understanding and applying principles of project control to launch and manage new initiatives and innovations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence business partners, to help prioritize activities and resources to meet the organization needs, build rapport and credibility to be a trusted advisor.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to act as a collaborative partner with senior leadership and positively influence outcomes in the best interest of the Company.
- Strong business writing skills with ability to write clearly and concisely, ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries, ability to write standard operating procedures and other business documents.
